Sabine von Rütte studied English Languages and Literatures and Film Studies at the Universities of Bern and Zurich pursuing her interests in literature, film, media, pop culture and the intersection of gender, race and class. She has received her Master's degree in English Literature and Film Studies from the University of Zurich. She is currently a PhD candidate in North American Literature under the supervision of Prof. Gabriele Rippl, working on contemporary North American maternal life writing.

Research Interests

American and Anglophone literature of the 20th and 21th centuries, feminist theory, race, class and gender representation in literature and popular culture, memory and identity, life writing, film studies, cultural studies, motherhood studies.
