I obtained a BA in literature, linguistics, visual arts and history at Université Paris Cité after spending the last year of my BA studies at the University of Limerick in 2021/2022. I have always been fascinated by phonetics, and thus decided to undertake an MA at Université Paris Cité in English linguistics, and finished in June 2024. My first MA thesis was an acoustic analysis of Irish slit /t/, supervised by Prof. Sylvain Navarro. We then presented my research at the Aloes 2024 conference in Paris in March 2024. My second MA thesis was also related to Irish slit /t/, but this time dealing with perceptual aspects of this sound. For my PhD I will be continuing to work on the sociophonetics of Irish English.
